Job Title: BIM Coordinator – Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled BIM professional who will be responsible for ensuring the accurate representation of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems in building information modeling (BIM) applications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as hands-on experience with BIM software and workflows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the coordination efforts for mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems in BIM models
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of MEP plans, elevations, sections, and details in BIM models
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to minimize design conflicts and clashes
  • Prepare and maintain a clash detection log for MEP systems
  • Participate and lead BIM coordination meetings with project stakeholders
  • Assist in developing and implementing BIM standards and workflows
  • Provide training and support to project team members on BIM software and workflows
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor’s BIM models for compliance with project requirements
  • Ensure compliance with project BIM execution plan
  • Build and maintain fabrication piping systems using our parent company’s database of piping families
  • Work with our parent company’s BIM team to develop tools that can be used for engineering, design, estimating and procurement
  • Coordinate with and manage 3rd party designers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in BIM coordination for MEP systems
  • Proficient in using BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD MEP
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of BIM standards such as NBIMS and LOD
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical team members
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload accordingly
  • Detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems
