FLEET MANAGER

Our client, a nationwide commercial mechanical contractor, is seeking a Fleet Manager.  Following company guidelines and policies, the Fleet Manager will support the entire  organization in the coordination, procurement and delivery of requested vehicles. 

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Quote, procure and coordinate delivery of commercial vans and light-medium duty trucks used throughout mechanical construction industry
  • Collaborate with 40+ operating companies by being main contact to provide solutions to daily vehicle related questions
  • Provide best logistical delivery of new vehicles through local dealers that yields the lowest costs, while being as close to the operating company receiving the vehicle
  • Maintain a database to track all open orders. Provide order status report to each operating company on the 1st and 15th of each month.  Identify and Resolve any delivery issues
  • Working with auto industry up fitters, establish ladder rack and bin packages that can be offered with vehicle being ordered by operating company
  • Maintain and monitor an offsite pool of commonly used vehicles and chassis used to expedite vehicles deliveries to operating companies
  • Track & document vehicle purchases that contribute to year end volume discounts and incentives as per established National Agreement
  • Research and be aware of new technologies that would benefit users of the vehicles. Ensure feedback from operating companies is gathered and best accommodated when rolling out new package offerings
  • Assist in developing annual purchasing programs with manufactures that yield the most compelling base price, volume discounts, and incentive terms.
  • On a as needed basis, coordinate and maintain all records and activities for all vehicles that remain on lease

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent Customer Service skills supporting internal customer and ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Exceptional data management skills, including excellent working knowledge of Excel and Access
  • Excellent follow through on tasks a must.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team with both internal stake holders and externally with supply chain
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to accept responsibility and self-direct in achievement of objectives
  • Knowledge of light-medium duty truck and vans used in mechanical construction preferred
  • Post high school education is preferred
