Position Overview:

As a Manufacturing Sheetmetal Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the sheetmetal manufacturing operations within a facility. Your role will involve supervising a team of workers, ensuring the efficient production of sheetmetal components, implementing quality control measures, and collaborating with various departments to meet production targets and standards. You will be responsible for managing schedules, optimizing processes, and maintaining a high level of productivity and quality in sheetmetal manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise Sheetmetal Manufacturing Operations: Lead and oversee the sheetmetal manufacturing activities within the facility. Provide guidance, support, and direction to ensure smooth operations, adherence to production schedules, and achievement of quality standards.
  2. Team Management: Manage a team of sheetmetal workers, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing training and development opportunities. Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and ensure high levels of employee engagement and motivation.
  3. Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the production of high-quality sheetmetal components. Monitor and inspect manufacturing processes, conduct quality audits, and address any deviations or non-conformities promptly. Maintain accurate documentation of quality control processes and outcomes.
  4. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement appropriate safety protocols within the sheetmetal manufacturing operations. Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and promote a culture of safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
  5. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction within the sheetmetal manufacturing operations. Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity while maintaining quality standards.
  6. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, procurement, maintenance, and logistics, to ensure smooth coordination of activities. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, provide progress updates, and address any issues or concerns that may impact production.
  7. Equipment and Resource Management: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and utilization of sheetmetal manufacturing equipment and resources. Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment availability, minimize downtime, and optimize equipment performance.
  8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation related to production activities, safety records, quality control, and personnel management. Prepare reports on production performance, resource utilization, and any other relevant metrics as required by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing supervisory role, particularly in sheetmetal manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of sheetmetal manufacturing processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing manufacturing operations, optimizing processes, and achieving production targets.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software, quality control tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
