Job Title: Regional Safety Manager – Construction
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Regional Safety Manager to join our construction company and ensure the implementation of comprehensive safety programs across multiple construction sites within a designated region. As the Regional Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in fostering a safety-first culture, mitigating risks, and promoting best practices to safeguard the well-being of our employees, contractors, visitors, and the public. Your expertise in safety regulations, incident prevention, and industry-specific knowledge will be instrumental in achieving our safety goals and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:

Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, and maintain robust safety programs tailored to each construction site in the region. Regularly assess and update these programs to address emerging safety concerns and ensure continuous improvement.

Compliance and Regulations: Stay abreast of all applicable safety regulations, codes, and standards related to the construction industry. Ensure strict adherence to these requirements and actively communicate updates to project teams.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and identify potential hazards at construction sites. Work with site supervisors and project managers to devise effective strategies for hazard mitigation and accident prevention.

Incident Reporting and Investigation: Oversee incident reporting procedures and conduct thorough investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents. Analyze data to identify trends and root causes, then develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Training and Education: Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to all construction personnel, including employees and subcontractors. Ensure all workers are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to perform their duties safely.

Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct routine safety inspections at construction sites to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement. Regularly audit safety performance and records to verify adherence to company policies and safety standards.

Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and procedures for construction sites, ensuring that all personnel are trained to handle emergencies effectively and efficiently.

Safety Culture Promotion: Foster a positive safety culture across all levels of the organization. Encourage open communication and a proactive approach to safety among employees and subcontractors.

Collaborative Partnerships: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and safety committees to promote safety initiatives and share best practices across construction sites.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a safety manager in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations, codes, and standards.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify safety risks and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees at all levels.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety or NEBOSH Construction Certificate are preferred.
- Willingness to travel within the designated region to oversee multiple construction sites.
