Position Overview:

Our client is a mid-sized mechanical contracting company specializing in providing high-quality construction and engineering solutions for various commercial and industrial projects in the Bowling Green, KY area. We take pride in our commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team and lead the construction operations department.
The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the construction operations. This position requires a dynamic and organized professional who can effectively lead and coordinate various construction projects, ensure efficient project execution, and foster a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the construction operations department, including project managers, site supervisors, and field teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize construction processes, enhance project delivery, and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resources, making necessary adjustments to maintain project timelines and financial targets.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project coordination.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges on projects and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to project managers and site supervisors, fostering their professional development and growth within the company.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and standards to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Analyze project performance data and prepare reports for senior management, highlighting key insights, areas for improvement, and successful outcomes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to support proposal development, client presentations, and relationship-building efforts.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to contribute insights and recommendations for company growth and expansion.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (master’s degree is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction operations or project management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and related construction trades.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering construction projects on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
