Position Overview:

As a vital contributor to our financial reporting team, the Project Accountant will play a central role in providing timely and accurate information reporting. This role encompasses responsibilities such as job cost tracking, balance sheet reconciliations, research, and facilitating communication with project managers regarding project status and payment approvals. This is an on-site position located in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial aspects of the POC Revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and maintaining processes for cost-to-complete, loss reserves, segmentation, and more.
  • Audit and control financial models to provide continuous and accurate reporting on jobs in progress.
  • Support month-end and year-end closings related to project accounting.
  • Prepare and issue accurate and timely weekly and monthly project reports.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and guidelines, delegation of authority, deviation approval processes, and terms and conditions limitations.
  • Lead and participate in teams dedicated to process improvement and enhanced performance, including cross-functional teams.
  • Document and maintain financial processes and procedures.
  • Provide the business with transactional and competitive feedback.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.


  • Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Strong skills in MS Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills, coupled with a commitment to achieving high-quality results.
  • Financial experience in the area of accounting or project accounting, particularly using the percentage-of-completion method.
  • Demonstrated self-confidence and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Strong process skills and discipline.


  • Business degree or a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
