Production Planning Manager 

Position Overview:

The Production Planning Manager will oversee Production Planning activities. This role involves close collaboration with Product Manufacturing, Planning, and Configuration Control teams to craft and execute a comprehensive Production Planning strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute departmental objectives through adept management of Production Planners, encompassing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, aligning their efforts with assigned tasks.

• Act as a core team member dedicated to optimizing the MRP/ERP system for enhanced operational efficiency.

• Foster seamless collaboration with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Master Scheduler teams to ensure accurate material planning.

• Facilitate in tracking material movement throughout the facilities.

• Collaborate closely with production leads/supervisors to ensure they have the necessary resources to fulfill their responsibilities.

• Complete deliverables of the Production Planners, as required, to address peak workloads or absences.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Profound expertise in ERP/MRP systems.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated across all levels of the organization.

• Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing engineering drawings.

• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain principles.

• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and efficiently managing multiple projects concurrently.

• Possession of outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively within a collaborative team environment.

• Proficiency in coaching, training, and motivating team members, with a strong leadership acumen.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5-7 years of experience in production planning within an engineer-to-order environment.

• 3-5 years of management experience, overseeing a team of at least 3-5 members.

• Demonstrated expertise as an MRP key user.

• Ability to swiftly adapt to new technologies while accommodating frequent shifts in assignments and business objectives.

• Solid foundational knowledge of engineering and fabrication processes.

Preferred Requirements:

• Previous experience with Infor LN.

Education & Training:

• Bachelor of Science or technical degree from an accredited institution.

• Extensive industry or military experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:



This role involves extended periods (75% to 90%) at a workstation utilizing a computer. It may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly, for tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or other similar activities. Other physical activities may include fine manipulation of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity demands include color perception, depth perception, and a broad field of vision necessary for data and figure analysis, operating a computer terminal, and conducting extensive reading.
