Mechanical Design and Controls Integration Engineer
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking actively seeking a dynamic and highly skilled engineer to join our team, specializing in mechanical design and controls integration projects. In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to design, develop, and seamlessly integrate advanced mechanical systems with cutting-edge control technologies within the nuclear medicine industry.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems incorporating advanced control systems.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs for a range of products and systems, including conceptualization, layout, and prototyping.
- Create precise 3D models and drawings utilizing CAD software like Inventor or AutoCAD.
- Participate in design reviews, providing valuable feedback to enhance functionality, efficiency, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met, encompassing cost, quality, and timelines.
- Maintain and update design documentation, including technical specifications, assembly instructions, and user manuals.
- Execute mechanical component development and integration, employing Computer-Aided-Design concepts.
- Leverage expertise in building controls systems.
- Assist in all aspects of building controls, including engineering control drawings, configuration, programming, startup, test, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control components, networks, and systems.
- Specific experience with Honeywell and Niagara software is a significant advantage.
- Apply company engineering standards, software point database standards, and graphic standards for all construction projects.
- Understand schedules, costs, and contractual commitments for assigned construction projects.
- Represent a responsive and professional manner with customers.
- Provide project programming and system checkout as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong technical writing and verbal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to determine customer needs for project specifications and scope
- Ability to interpret and implement specifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in computer-aided design and drafting software
- Proficient use of MS Office (Primarily Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- A two or four-year degree or equivalent education/experience demonstrating a solid understanding of electrical components, computers, networks, and control systems, with an emphasis on direct digital control systems.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related field preferred
- 2-5 years of related work experience
- Nuclear Medicine industry experience
