Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Installation of HVAC Control Systems:
    • Install, calibrate, and configure HVAC control systems, including thermostats, sensors, actuators, and other related components.
    • Collaborate with contractors and other technicians to integrate control systems into overall HVAC systems.
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC control systems to identify and address potential issues.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in control systems, including electrical and electronic components.
    • Replace or repair faulty components and ensure proper functioning of the entire HVAC system.
  • Programming and Calibration:
    • Program and configure HVAC control systems to meet the specific requirements of the building and ensure optimal performance.
    • Calibrate sensors, controllers, and other devices to maintain accurate temperature and humidity levels.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation details, maintenance activities, and repairs.
    • Generate reports on system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Communicate with clients to understand their HVAC control system needs and address any concerns.
    • Provide guidance and training to building owners and operators on the use and maintenance of HVAC control systems.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure that all work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in HVAC control technology.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Control Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and related equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for emergencies or scheduled maintenance.
