SR. PAYROLL SPECIALIST

What You Will Be Doing
In this key role, you will oversee various aspects of our payroll operations. Your responsibilities include setting up new hourly employees in the COINS payroll system, maintaining employment documentation, and updating payroll records with exemptions and other deductions. Weekly, you will validate rates on manual payroll timecards and promptly address any pay-related issues that may arise.
The Ideal Candidate
- 10 or more years of payroll experience, specifically in certified payroll processing for 400+ employees.
- Experience with Davis/Bacon wages, ideally within a construction company.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite or similar software, with a preference for familiarity with the COINS Accounting System.
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude, aligned with our company’s safety policy.
- The ability to perform high-volume work with minimal errors and supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills for courteous and proactive communication with all levels within the company.
- The capacity to maintain confidentiality concerning financials and customer transactions.
- Proactivity, self-motivation, detail-orientation, and reliability, with the ability to multitask and work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
