MECHANICAL PROJECT MANAGER

What You Will Be Doing 

Our client is a mechanical contracting company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead a significant project on a local Air Force Base. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical construction, particularly with Steam Boilers, and a proven track record of working with the Army Corps of Engineers. This role involves overseeing a team of 20-30 individuals, and the project duration is expected to be two years. The position offers a strong negotiable salary and includes per diem. 

The Ideal Candidate

Project Planning and Execution: 

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and milestones. 
  • Ensure the successful execution of mechanical construction projects, with a specific focus on Steam Boilers.

Army Corps of Engineers Collaboration: 

  • Interface effectively with the Army Corps of Engineers, ensuring compliance with regulations and project specifications. 
  • Navigate and adhere to the unique requirements associated with projects on military installations. 

Team Leadership: 

  • Manage and lead a team of 20-30 individuals on-site. 
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment. 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Implement and enforce high-quality standards in all aspects of mechanical construction. 
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications. 

Stakeholder Communication: 

  • Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders, including the client and internal teams. 
  • Address and resolve any concerns promptly to maintain project momentum.

Budget and Cost Management: 

  • Estimate project costs, develop budgets, and manage expenditures. 
  • Ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Other Essential Functions 

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in mechanical construction, with a focus on Steam Boilers. 
  • Background working with the Army Corps of Engineers on construction projects. 
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of 20-30 individuals. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in construction, especially on military bases.
