  3. Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with control systems, identifying and resolving problems that may affect system performance.

  4. Repairs: Performing repairs and replacements of faulty components, such as circuit boards, controllers, and sensors, to ensure the control system operates properly.

  5. Upgrades: Upgrading control systems by replacing outdated components with newer, more advanced technology to enhance efficiency and functionality.

  6. Programming: Writing, modifying, and testing control system software to meet specific requirements, making adjustments to the control logic as needed.

  7. Documentation: Maintaining records of service and maintenance activities, including system documentation, service reports, and inventory of spare parts.

  8. Customer Interaction: Communicating with clients or facility managers to discuss system performance, maintenance schedules, and any necessary repairs or upgrades.

  9. Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

  10. Training: Providing training to end-users or maintenance staff on how to use and maintain the control systems effectively.

  11. Knowledge of Various Systems: Understanding a variety of control systems, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Building Automation Systems (BAS).

  12. Continuous Learning: Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in control system technology and industry best practices through training and professional development.

To become a Controls Service Technician, one typically needs a background in electrical or electronics technology, along with relevant certifications or training.
