Industrial Site Construction Manager

Overview

The Industrial Site Construction Manager, reporting to a Project or Operations Manager, is tasked with overseeing all craft and maintenance personnel and activities. This role requires strict adherence to safety procedures and standards, effective communication with supervisors, and maintaining consistent daily communication with key customer contacts.

What You Will Be Doing 

  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience in the industrial maintenance and construction sectors, including Pulp & Paper, Chemical, and Heavy Industrial.
  • Project Management: Proven track record in managing and supervising multi-discipline self-perform maintenance and capital construction projects.
  • Safety Management: Expertise in safety management, including multi-cause investigations, safe work practice observation, and implementing safety program improvements.
  • Work Order Management: Skilled in work order management, project scheduling, and turnaround planning.
  • Resource Planning: Ability to ensure proper site staffing levels to meet client workloads and expectations.
  • Effective Communication: Regular communication with client representatives, supervision, and employees.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Policy Implementation: Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures, including those related to ethics, safety, human resources, finance, and IT.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to perform other duties as necessary and travel to job sites in the Southeastern US.
  • This role involves supervising Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, and other staff roles on the project.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: 10+ years of industrial construction management and leadership experience.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and prioritizing skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Decision-Making: Capability to make decisions, solve problems, and prioritize assignments in a dynamic industrial worksite environment.
  • Budget Management: Proficiency in managing budgets, work prioritization, and preparing related management reports.
  • Technical Skills: Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Scheduling, and PowerPoint.
  • Project Management: In-depth knowledge of construction and maintenance projects in an industrial setting.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrated ability to manage federal, state, and local regulatory compliance.
  • Industrial Construction Management: 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Punctuality: Consistently arrive at work on time, as scheduled, reliably completing each shift.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety rules and standards for the company and the site.
  • Instruction Adherence: Follow instructions from direct supervisors effectively.
