Job Title: Superintendent

Location: Richmond Area

Job Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee change-outs, retrofits, and installations for complex projects. The Superintendent will supervise day-to-day work activities of mechanics, apprentices, and helpers, ensuring all services are performed according to contractual agreements and company budget objectives.

Their New Construction team is renowned for working on large, influential buildings in the Richmond area, delivering top-tier services to our commercial customers.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of International Codes and general HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience in handling personnel issues.
  • Excellent mechanical, administrative, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with current technology (e.g., computer, tablet, smartphone, Microsoft Teams, Procore, BIM).

  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned trade/craft workers.
  • Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for project completion.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders for installation.
  • Review and release Shop Drawings and Spool Drawings for field installation.
  • Teach, coach, and guide teammates to ensure safe and productive work.
  • Ensure teammates participate in hazard reporting; audit 5 x 5s and pre-task plans for compliance.
  • Monitor and control manpower and tools for efficient use of resources.
  • Review weekly cost reports and identify cost-saving opportunities
