Position Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for developing sales channels and driving growth for Modular Engineered Products in mission-critical and other markets.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities by targeting major accounts within a defined geographic region or business segment.
  • Build long-term relationships with potential customers and strategic partners.
  • Achieve assigned sales, orders, and margin goals within the designated region(s) and business segment(s).
  • Manage the sales process by collaborating with internal support teams to meet sales objectives in the assigned region(s) and business segment(s).
  • Develop and implement an annual strategic business plan, including sales forecasting, market analysis for existing products, and recommendations for future products to meet customer needs.
  • Work with Engineering and Applications teams to provide tailored solutions for customer opportunities.
  • Lead bid preparation and serve as the proposal manager for key sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and senior leadership to develop new products and capabilities based on market trends.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key management within customer organizations.
  • Regularly report progress and performance against goals to senior management.
  • Oversee projects related to new account development.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills: 

  • Proven leadership abilities and successful sales track record.
  • Understanding of the markets for OSM (Off-Site Manufacturing) modular solutions.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with a deep understanding of customer purchasing behavior for OSM products.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a matrixed organization.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business from an accredited institution.
  • A combination of military leadership and/or 10+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge of mission-critical markets.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager with a demonstrable track record of success.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and familiarity with Fortune 500 organizations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract terms, project planning, and execution.
  • Skilled in negotiation and closing sales, demonstrated by past achievements.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to support business goals.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • 5-10 years of experience in a sales role within the engineered product/manufacturing sector.
  • Background in engineering or project management with a focus on career development in sales.
