Key Responsibilities

  • Install, retrofit, and repair HVAC systems, including units up to 1,000 tons and ancillary equipment.
  • Diagnose, analyze, and resolve system malfunctions using blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, and system replacements as needed or requested.
  • Collaborate with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and system operations clearly.
  • Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment for peak efficiency.
  • Provide technical support, re-training, and follow-up training at customer sites.
  • Identify parts required for repairs, prepare accurate documentation, and submit reports promptly.
  • Represent the company as a primary customer contact, delivering excellent service and fostering trust.
  • Mentor and train HVAC Field Technician Apprentices as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree or technical school certification in HVAC (preferred).
  • 5–10 years of HVAC-related experience or equivalent education and training.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and building specifications.
  • Strong mathematical ability for calculations and measurements.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills for HVAC systems and related equipment.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • EPA-approved Universal Technician Certification (required).

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills for customer and team interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and self-motivation.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to mechanical equipment, high-voltage systems, and moving parts.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexibility to climb, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
  • Noise levels are typically loud; personal protective equipment is provided.
