What You Will Be Doing
The Senior Mechanical Estimator leads the preparation of complex mechanical construction cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems on large-scale projects. This role requires extensive industry experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple high-value bids simultaneously.
The Ideal Candidate
- Develop comprehensive and competitive estimates for complex mechanical projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Review and interpret project documents, including drawings, specifications, and RFPs.
- Manage the solicitation and evaluation of supplier and subcontractor quotes, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Provide strategic input during bid review meetings to optimize competitiveness and profitability.
- Mentor and guide junior estimators, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to ensure estimates align with project execution strategies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain competitive pricing.
- Present estimates and recommendations to senior leadership and clients as needed.
Other Essential Functions
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of mechanical systems and construction practices.
- 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience, with a proven track record in HVAC, plumbing, or piping projects.
- Revit experience a plus
