Job Description: Commercial HVAC Service Technician
Location: Columbus, OH
Overview:
The Commercial HVAC Service Technician specializes in the maintenance, repair, and technical support of HVAC systems and equipment in a data center environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
- Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and electronic components of commercial equipment.
- Installation: Install and upgrade HVAC systems and other complex commercial equipment.
- Technical Support: Provide assistance to clients, addressing service calls and offering guidance on equipment operation.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service and maintenance activities, including repairs and adjustments.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their needs and explain repair processes.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Upgrading and Retrofitting: Improve equipment performance and energy efficiency by retrofitting or upgrading systems.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry developments through training and certifications.
- Emergency Repairs: Respond quickly to emergency repair situations to minimize downtime.
- Factory Authorized Services: Provide Start-up, Basic Product Training, Commissioning Assistance, Preventive Maintenance, Diagnostics, Break/Fix services, and client interface.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years trade school education in HVAC/R and related areas.
- 3-5 years of HVAC data center service experience.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Must possess or be able to develop subject matter expertise in Precision Cooling and Ultrasonic Humidification products.
- Strong aptitude for mastering new product technologies, electrical schematics, and product/control integration.
- On call availability required.
Successful candidates will possess strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, customer service skills, and knowledge of safety protocols. Ongoing training is essential in this field.
