Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled HR/Payroll Implementation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and support the implementation, optimization, and management of HR/payroll systems. This position is ideal for professionals with extensive HR or payroll expertise, including payroll processing, compliance, prevailing wages, and system integrations. As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate with stakeholders, manage system deployments, and provide guidance to ensure seamless adoption of HR/payroll solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define HR and payroll system requirements aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide expert-level guidance on payroll processing, HR operations, prevailing wages, and compliance with state payroll laws and regulations.
- Lead HR/payroll system implementation projects, including configuration, testing, and end-user training.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues during implementation to ensure successful deployment.
- Conduct gap analyses to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in HR/payroll workflows.
- Develop documentation such as user guides, process maps, and training materials.
- Train and mentor end users to maximize system utilization and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in HR and payroll management.
- Travel to client sites as required (approximately 40%).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of HR or payroll experience with deep knowledge of payroll processing and HR functions.
- Expertise in payroll state laws, prevailing wages, and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and adept at working independently in a remote setting.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience implementing ERP or other HR/payroll systems.
- Familiarity with timekeeping systems and their integration with payroll platforms.
- Knowledge of tax reporting, benefits administration, and compliance requirements.
