Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Finance Implementation Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive construction accounting experience to lead ERP financial module implementation and optimization projects. This role is perfect for finance professionals with at least 5 years as a Controller or Assistant Controller in the construction industry who are eager to apply their expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation, upgrades, and optimization of financial modules within ERP systems, ensuring adherence to construction industry and corporate accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial requirements and translate them into efficient system configurations.
  • Provide expert guidance on construction accounting processes, including job costing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure seamless system adoption by end users.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with prevailing wage regulations, state payroll laws, and corporate accounting policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during financial system implementations, coordinating with technical support as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to provide innovative solutions and recommendations.
  • Travel to client sites and company locations as required (approximately 40% of the time).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in construction accounting, with experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • In-depth knowledge of prevailing wage regulations and state payroll laws.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for explaining complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing ERP or construction-specific financial software such as COINS ERP+, Procore, Sage, or Viewpoint.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA.
