Preventative Maintenance HVAC Technician

Reports To: Service Manager / Lead Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Preventative Maintenance HVAC Technician to perform routine maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role focuses on ensuring optimal system performance, efficiency, and longevity through scheduled inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on residential and commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
  • Inspect and replace air filters, belts, and other components as needed.
  • Clean condenser coils, evaporator coils, and drain lines to maintain system efficiency.
  • Check refrigerant levels, test electrical connections, and lubricate moving parts.
  • Identify and report potential system issues before they lead to major repairs.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate findings to service managers and customers.
  • Follow company and industry safety protocols, including EPA regulations for refrigerant handling.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and educate clients on proper system care.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in an organized manner.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HVAC training or certification is preferred but not required.
  • 1+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance or related field is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor system issues and recognize when further service is needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow checklists and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces or outdoor environments.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and excellent communication skills.
