Site Safety Specialist – Electrical Construction

Position Overview:

The Site Safety Specialist provides electrical construction safety and health leadership, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and institutional policies. Reporting to the QC/Safety Director, this role is integral in coordinating and implementing health and safety programs to guarantee workplace safety and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site-specific safety orientations covering Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for all project personnel.
• Ensure project teams complete daily JSAs (Job Safety Analyses) and JHAs (Job Hazard Analyses).
• Oversee project adherence to the APP, AHAs, OSHA standards, and USACE EM385-1-1.
• Collaborate with the Safety Director, regulatory agencies, and clients to develop corrective actions.
• Perform on-site inspections and audits to ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate and track safety training and certification for field personnel.
• Support reporting of incidents and near miss events, ensuring proper communication to the Safety and HR Directors.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Safety Director.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical construction safety.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, USACE EM 385-1-1, and federal/state safety guidelines.
• Expertise in fall protection, electrical safety, permit-required confined spaces, excavation, trenching, scaffolding, demolition, hazardous energy control, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication.
• Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Proven ability to make independent judgments on safety matters and implement policies effectively.
• Ability to travel overnight to job sites as needed.
