Mechanical HVAC Project Manager
Location: Phoenix, AZ

Job Overview:
The Mechanical HVAC Project Manager is responsible for managing all activities related to assigned projects, except for manpower coordination, which is handled through Field Superintendents and the Operations Manager. The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities to ensure projects meet deadlines and stay within budget, all while ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct project kick-off meetings with estimators to acquire project information.
  • Review project proposals to determine timeframes, funding limits, and staffing needs.
  • Finalize work order budgets and schedule turnover meetings for each project.
  • Oversee procurement, assembly, and approval of submittals in coordination with the Project Coordinator.
  • Review contracts and make necessary clarifications or additions.
  • Perform equipment buyouts and manage purchases for each project.
  • Write subcontracts for specialized work (controls, insulation, etc.).
  • Submit RFIs and change orders for project scope clarifications.
  • Prepare monthly “Work in Progress” projections and review weekly job cost reports.
  • Ensure the schedule of values aligns with the labor and material projections.
  • Manage project closeout, punch lists, retention billing, and final completion documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4-6 years of HVAC/mechanical experience.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
  • Clean driving record required.
