About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with proven experience in commercial plumbing estimating, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Bid Management
- Determine which projects to bid in coordination with the Vice President of Pre-Construction.
- Prepare accurate, detailed bid packages including labor, material, subcontractor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Analyze blueprints, project specifications, and scope to determine job costs and timelines.
- Ensure all bids are submitted within deadlines and include the correct documentation (bonds, insurance, etc.).
- Incorporate lead times and construction schedules into estimates.
- Monitor actual project costs against original estimates for accuracy and ongoing improvement.
- Build in appropriate profit margins to ensure job profitability.
- Maintain accurate bid logs, job histories, and estimate documentation.
Client & Vendor Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Represent the company in a professional manner during pre-bid walkthroughs and client interactions.
- Provide insightful recommendations to the executive team to improve project success rates and profitability.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in estimating commercial plumbing projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, drawings, and construction documentation.
- Strong mathematical skills for pricing, calculations, and budgeting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and estimating software platforms.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and job site requirements.
- Professional demeanor with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
