Job Summary:
As the CAD Manager, you will be responsible for managing CAD design teams, implementing drafting standards, and ensuring quality control across all project documentation. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver accurate, timely, and efficient CAD deliverables using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and other industry-standard platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise CAD designers, drafters, and technicians across multiple projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain CAD standards and best practices.
- Manage CAD/BIM libraries, templates, and digital file organization.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of drawings.
- Oversee quality control for all CAD deliverables and resolve design discrepancies.
- Integrate CAD workflows with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D modeling tools.
- Train staff on CAD software updates, tools, and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve CAD productivity.
- Collaborate with IT and project management teams to ensure systems support CAD production needs.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related experience.
- 5+ years of professional CAD experience, with at least 2 years in a management or lead role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Navisworks, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
- Knowledge of BIM standards, 3D modeling, and construction documentation.
- Strong understanding of engineering, architectural, or construction processes.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with document control systems and collaborative platforms like Procore, Bluebeam, or BIM 360 is a plus.
