Low Temperature Field Technician – Commercial Refrigeration
Location: Louisville, CO
Wage Range: $30–$40/hour (DOE)
Job Type: Full-Time | OT Eligible
Reports To: Operations Manager

Overview:
A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a skilled Low Temperature Field Technician to service and maintain industrial refrigeration systems in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemical plants, and recreational ice facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, and repair Freon and ammonia refrigeration systems (100–5,000 HP)

• Troubleshoot electrical and control systems (including VFDs and PLCs)

• Mentor apprentices and ensure job safety compliance

• Maintain accurate truck inventory and complete job documentation

• Interface with customers and provide technical recommendations

• Support sales with scopes for retrofits, upgrades, or system enhancements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industrial refrigeration/HVACR experience

• Experience with reciprocating/screw compressors, 1 & 2-stage systems, liquid overfeed, CPR/HPR

• Strong electrical troubleshooting and motor alignment skills

• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA PSM, and RMP standards

• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

• Ability to wear a respirator and work flexible schedules, including weekends/holidays

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR

• EPA Universal (required)

• OSHA-10 (within 6 months)

• RETA 1&2, CARO, or CIRO certifications (preferred)
