Talent Acquisition Specialist — Mechanical (Indianapolis)

Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 base + commission; full benefits
Role Overview
Serve as the dedicated recruiter for a major OPCO: ~75% of your time runs direct-hire and select craft “911” needs for that account; ~25% flexes to team overflow and surge priorities across Kodiak.
What You Will Do
- Lead full-cycle searches for direct-hire roles (PMs, Estimators, PEs, Coordinators, Accounting/HR) and assist on craft (HVAC/mech, pipe, sheet metal, welders, electricians, BAS/controls).
- Triage “911” requisitions; translate changing requirements into targeted sourcing and rapid, qualified slates.
- Run structured intake with hiring leaders; define must-haves, interview plan, and decision path.
- Build pipelines via Boolean/X-ray, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed/Zip, trades networks, associations, job fairs, and referrals.
- Screen for safety mindset, reliability, and commercial construction experience; verify credentials/certifications as needed.
- Coordinate interviews, offers, and starts with OPCO HR/Operations; support pre-employment and onboarding handoffs.
- Keep Tracker ATS clean and current; publish notes, slate summaries, and stage moves that drive fast decisions.
- Jump into overflow priorities, share hotlists, and support surge hiring as needed; represent Kodiak at local hiring events/site visits.
- Uphold compliance, documentation, and confidentiality standards.
What You Will Need
- 2+ years recruiting in mechanical/electrical/construction or skilled trades (mix of direct-hire + craft preferred).
- Demonstrated success with high-urgency, high-volume (“911”) searches and shifting priorities.
- Strong sourcing toolkit (Boolean/X-ray, talent mapping); tools: LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, ZipRecruiter.
- ATS discipline, and data-driven workflow.
