Construction Safety Manager with Industrial Mechanical Background

Job Summary:



Our client is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Construction Safety Manager with an Industrial Mechanical background to oversee a construction project based out of Phoenix, Arizona. The ideal candidate must understand the construction process and have knowledge of Industrial Mechanical standards and practices. They must possess an OSHA 500 certification and have experience training, managing and leading a team.

Job Duties:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including OSHA.
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for construction sites.
• Conduct site inspections to identify hazards and potential risks.
• Identify and evaluate potential hazards at construction sites.
• Work with site supervisors and general contractors to implement safety programs and reduce risks.
• Conduct safety training for on-site construction teams.
• Evaluate workplace conditions and monitor employee behavior to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, and determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Develop a safety culture that encourages all employees to be accountable for their own safety and the safety of those around them.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new rules, regulations, and technologies that may impact the construction industry.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related field or equivalent trade experience.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial mechanical, construction, or related work.
• OSHA 500 certification required.
• Knowledge and understanding of Industrial Mechanical principles and practices.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of safety management systems and best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team.
• A strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
