SUMMARY

This individual is an experienced Estimator with a thorough understanding of HVAC ductwork and equipment related to commercial and industrial projects.

JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

• Has the technical expertise with on-screen takeoffs and prepare estimates using Quickpen

software and Microsoft Office products

• Contact equipment venders and subcontractors for pricing.

• Verify that the equipment & subcontractor quotes that we receive is per the specifications

• Enter ductwork, Quickpen reports and equipment pricing on the bid template.

• Attend Pre-bid meetings if needed

• Assist in final preparation of the final bid.

• Can effectively communicate the scope of our work to a client

• Contact Subs on specialty items.

• To establish an accurate cost for a project, estimator has the ability to:

o Plan the bid by reading and comprehending project specifications, plans, and addenda to

understand the intent of a project.

o Understanding scope of the project, project schedule and duration

o Understanding specific job site conditions that will impact the cost

o Understanding the specific client and how the client will impact the cost

o Understanding general conditions requirements and special requirements

o Understanding bid forms and preparing the bid to accommodate bid forms, including

alternates and allowances

o Understanding plan notes that impact cost, equipment schedules that impact to cost

o Understanding specific scope (proposal) that may need to be prepared that establishes a

specific scope of work that identifies exclusions and clarification of the scope.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and/or CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Thorough understanding of current NC Mechanical Code

• Multiple years of experience in estimating is preferred

• Field experience is preferred

WORK AVAILABILITY and REQUIRMENTS

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level determined by management.

• Appearance must be clean and neat at all time
