Job Description: Contract Microsoft Access Database Developer/Administrator (Remote)

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Contract Microsoft Access Database Developer/Administrator to join our team 100% remotely. In the initial “intensive” phase, you will dig into existing Access databases to build new functionality and optimize performance. After this build-out, you’ll transition to an ongoing maintenance role, handling fixes and small enhancements on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize existing Access databases (tables, queries, forms, reports)

• Develop new VBA modules, macros, and SQL queries to meet project requirements

• Perform data imports/exports and integrate Access with other systems (e.g., Excel, SQL Server)

• Document database architecture, codebase changes, and maintenance procedures

• Conduct knowledge transfer and training for in-house team members

• Transition smoothly from full-time development to part-time, on-demand support

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as an MS Access developer/administrator

• Expert proficiency in VBA, SQL, and the Access object model

• Demonstrated experience with data migration, performance tuning, and database design

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Proven ability to work independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment

Contract Details

• Duration: 6–12 months (with potential for ongoing maintenance)

• Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/wk) during build-out; flexible thereafter

• Location: 100% remote (U.S.-based)

• Rate: Competitive hourly range of $38–$60/hr, based on experience
