Quality Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and enforce quality control procedures and protocols, ensuring our products and services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role requires a strong background in quality assurance methodologies, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and engineering drawing creation and review. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement process procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Create, review, and validate engineering drawings to ensure precision and compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including inspection reports, test procedures, and quality assurance records.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Provide training and support to employees on quality control procedures, best practices, and quality methodologies.
  • Oversee document control processes within the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Implement and manage supplier management processes as part of the QMS.
  • Manage controlled changes within the QMS in collaboration with the Quality Manager and relevant departments.

The ideal candidate:

  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Proficiency in engineering drawing creation and review.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including first-principles thinking.
  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in quality assurance or process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in engineering drawing creation and review.
  • Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor) are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to handle small parts and operate precision testing equipment requiring fine motor skills.
  • Capability to move throughout the work environment to conduct inspections, audits, and assessments.
  • Strong eyesight for visual inspections and detailed reviews of engineering drawings and documentation (visual aids may be used if necessary).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to supplier sites, customer locations, or other facilities for audits, inspections, or training sessions.
