Quality Engineer
We are looking for a highly skilled Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and enforce quality control procedures and protocols, ensuring our products and services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role requires a strong background in quality assurance methodologies, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and engineering drawing creation and review. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement process procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
- Create, review, and validate engineering drawings to ensure precision and compliance with quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, including inspection reports, test procedures, and quality assurance records.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Provide training and support to employees on quality control procedures, best practices, and quality methodologies.
- Oversee document control processes within the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Implement and manage supplier management processes as part of the QMS.
- Manage controlled changes within the QMS in collaboration with the Quality Manager and relevant departments.
The ideal candidate:
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in engineering drawing creation and review.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including first-principles thinking.
- Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in quality assurance or process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrated skills in engineering drawing creation and review.
- Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle small parts and operate precision testing equipment requiring fine motor skills.
- Capability to move throughout the work environment to conduct inspections, audits, and assessments.
- Strong eyesight for visual inspections and detailed reviews of engineering drawings and documentation (visual aids may be used if necessary).
- Willingness to travel occasionally to supplier sites, customer locations, or other facilities for audits, inspections, or training sessions.
