Position Overview:
The Travel Plumbing Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations related to plumbing system installation on construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee plumbing system installation, ensuring timely delivery to job sites and precise field installation.
- Direct and manage all on-site field personnel, adjusting team size based on project requirements.
- Supervise subcontractor activities.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to create, monitor, and adhere to schedules.
- Participate in all mandatory job site meetings for project updates and changes.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of project plans.
- Enforce and promote strict adherence to company and job site safety procedures.
- Conduct and document weekly safety “toolbox” talks.
- Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensure compliance with Hazard Communication regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with field personnel, including PM and stakeholders.
- Perform various personnel actions, including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules.
- Maintain and submit accurate as-built drawings and other documentation promptly.
- Inspect and submit reports on the condition of tools, equipment, and safety gear.
- Ensure the jobsite maintains a high standard of appearance, professionalism, and organization.
- Maintain and ensure company vehicle complies with manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years as a Plumbing Superintendent on construction projects and at least 10 years of experience specifically with plumbing systems.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of plumbing system installation processes, techniques, and industry standards.
- Leadership Skills: Proven proficiency in management, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel extensively to project locations.
